Maintenance
From a one off lawn cut or hedge trim to a weekly visit Ed is able to tailor his service to suit your individual needs.
Specialist Pruning
Ed is able to carry out specialist pruning of plants, shrubs, trees and climbers and offer advice to promote healthy growth, flowering, fruit production and avoid pest and disease problems.
Lawn Care
The lawn is the mainstay of most gardens and whether it's used as a bowling green, a football pitch or anything in between Ed can use his skills and experience to get your lawn up to scratch carrying out feeding, scarification and aeration amongst other things. It you want to extend your lawn or patch up poor areas Ed has experience of preparing new lawn areas and laying turf. The vale of York is one of the premier turf growing areas in the UK and Ed usually collects the turf direct from the grower and lays it the same day it is cut giving you the freshest turf possible.
Hedge Maintenance
Ed is able to trim and renovate overgrown hedges as well as maintain topiary shapes.
Pressure Washing
Ed can restore tired looking paving and restore colour and texture to dirty paths, paving and other outdoor areas.
Plant Supply
Ed works with a range of plant suppliers in both the UK and overseas to get top quality bulbs, plants and trees to complete design projects and individual needs. Ed uses industry best practices and quality additives to ensure plants are given the best possible start in your garden.
Surveying and Design
Ed is competent in surveying and scale drawing and is able to produce a design to fit any space, selecting plants, and features to make the most of the space. While at Askham Bryan Ed was a designer on a Silver Medal winning garden at the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show in 2018
Commercial Services
Giving your customers the right first impression is crucial. That impression begins when your customer pulls into the carpark or walks past your front door.
E Bird Horticulture is able to maintain these areas for you, from a one off tidy to regular ongoing maintenance Ed can do it all. So if the green areas around your premises are looking a bit shabby and in need of some TLC, give Ed a ring for a chat about how to improve the area.
One to One training
If you're new to gardening and don't want to hand over the maintenance of your garden to someone else but need some help to understand what you need to do when, or how to do a particular task in your garden Ed is able to offer advice and training to help you achieve professional results yourself.
Garden Consultancy
As part of my BSc I studied the disconnect between builders and the quality of gardens in new build situations. I am able to assess the quality of gardens on new build estates and produce a details report with my findings. Previous reports have lead to unsuitable trees being removed from gardens and lawns being re-turfed to correct specification. If you have problems with new build gardens please get in touch asap as you only have TWO years from completion to get any issues rectified.
